About us
Oh Antonio and His Imaginary Friends is an orch-pop, indie-rock band from Austin, TX led by Antonio F Delgado, a lifelong songwriter who fell for Boyz II Men and The Cure in the same heartbeat.
We exist for the misfits—for the ones who crave belonging, who seek hope, and who know that every voice matters.
Our songs are anthems for those navigating grief, joy, and everything in between.
From the raw punch of “Fuck You, Cancer” to the sweet resilience of “Fall In Like”, our music explores the ache of being human—and the courage to keep going.
We blend traditional orchestration with rock instrumentation to reflect the beautiful mess of modern life. Inspired by Jens Lekman, the E Street Band, Belle and Sebastian, and Frank Turner, our songs carry emotional honesty, singable melodies, and big-hearted arrangements.
Every show is a gathering of he, she, they, them, we—an invitation to be yourself.
We’ve played venues from Stubb’s to the Bob Bullock Museum, and were honored with a City Proclamation: Oh Antonio and His Imaginary Friends Day (March 12, 2020). We’ve also proudly supported nonprofits like Science In A Suitcase and SXSW Cares.
Currently, we’re relaunching with a new single in September, inviting the world into a louder, bolder version of who we are. Antonio writes daily, building melodies that feel both familiar and brand new.
Our revolution starts with a song—and every note is a step toward a more honest, inclusive world.

Antonio F Delgado
Born and raised in the border city of El Paso, Antonio came up in the DIY punk scene—booking basement shows, recording on borrowed gear, and learning by doing. Now an electrical engineer, music producer, and daily songwriter, he fuses raw energy with polished production to craft emotionally honest songs that stick. In addition to fronting Oh Antonio and His Imaginary Friends, he also makes bilingual, joyfully chaotic kids’ music as Tio Toto, bringing singalongs and sonic adventures to families everywhere.

About us
Oh Antonio and His Imaginary Friends started as a lighthearted joke, a solo act where the only bandmates were products of imagination. At my first show, I playfully suggested that if the audience closed their eyes, they could hear the imaginary instruments joining my guitar. To my delight, this whimsical idea struck a chord with people, and soon real musicians wanted to join the fun, transforming my solo act into a lively and joyful band.
Our music is a delightful blend of Indie Rock and Orchestral Pop that’s guaranteed to make you sing along before the song ends, move your hips, and fill your heart with joy. Influences range from the timeless charm of Buddy Holly and the melodic storytelling of Belle and Sebastian to the vibrant sounds of ELO and the reflective lyrics of Frank Turner. Our mission is to create music that’s as infectious as it is heartfelt, combining catchy melodies with themes of love, resilience, and embracing your true self.
Our songs celebrate the joy of loving like there's no tomorrow, the playful precision of kissing like robots, and the courageous fight against depression and perfectionism. We want our listeners to feel a sense of belonging and inspiration, leaving with a smile and a renewed sense of hope.
Our journey has taken us to international stages in Paramaribo, Suriname, and Delhi, India, and we had the incredible honor of having March 12, 2020, named Oh Antonio and His Imaginary Friends Day in Austin, TX. Despite the cancellation of SXSW and the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our spirits remained high as we performed at events like Austin Music Week, Free Week, SXSW Cares, and Austin Pride. We’ve also had the joy of opening for amazing bands such as Walker Lukens, Big Jonie, and CloudChord.
Through our music, we aim to build a joyful community where laughter, connection, and authenticity flourish. Come join us on this whimsical adventure, and let our imaginary friends bring a little more joy to your world.
